Many hospitals and schools looked to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) for relief from the administrative burden of managing multiple suppliers, invoices and credentials.
While there are MSPs already in the market, Amergis (formerly Maxim Healthcare Staffing) a national and locally-situated Joint Commission-certified staffing company, recognized the need for an MSP that was transparent and leveled the playing field and that strives to maintain quality, efficiency, and fairness in its MSP offering. Maxim Staffing set out to achieve this goal by forming Sunburst Workforce Advisors.
The Sunburst model was founded on a vision of objectivity to include a fair competitive process for both pricing and selection of strategic vendors in order to expand the market to source top talent. Sunburst promotes supplier equity and allows small, minority, and women-owned businesses a place to thrive in a competitive marketplace.

Jason Cupples
Vice PresidentAs Vice President, Jason is responsible for the overall strategic vision, sales, implementation, and operations within Sunburst Workforce Advisors.
Jason has nearly two decades of human capital management in the healthcare industry. He joined Maxim Healthcare Staffing in 2004 as a healthcare recruiter, most recently serving as the National Director of Sales for our commercial division. Developing meaningful customer relationships by creating and effectively communicating ideas to improve their access to talent, Jason is well respected within the healthcare staffing industry as a trusted and knowledgeable partner.
Amy Alsante DNP, RN, NE-BC, CHEP, LSSGB
Chief Nursing OfficerDr. Alsante has a background of diverse nursing experience. Alsante started her career in critical care and most recently has over ten years of progressive leadership experience in acute care and ambulatory settings. Her leadership positions include an ICU specialty resource nurse, ICU Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager for a Medical Surgical unit, manager of inpatient dialysis unit, Magnet program director, Nursing Practice Innovation Lead, Senior Director of Nursing Excellence and Resource Management, and Interim Chief Nursing Officer of MedStar Harbor Hospital. Currently she is the Chief Nursing Officer of Sunburst Workforce Advisors.
Dan Wiltgen
National Director of OperationsDan Wiltgen has been a leader in the healthcare staffing industry since 2004 after obtaining a Bachelors in Science, Marketing from Iowa State University. Since 2004, Dan has evolved his expertise across the following healthcare staffing segments: nursing and allied recruitment, compliance and credentialing, account management, implementation, supplier management, VMS deployment and management, executive level business development, and executive level account governance.
Today, Dan is responsible for leading the operations team for Sunburst Workforce Advisors. Dan supports current and target clients by advising them on appropriate workforce management strategies. He is responsible for client satisfaction, account management, professional development, strategic analytics and compliance strategies. Dan consults with our customers to select the best VMS to address the applicable business case. Under Dan’s leadership, the Sunburst team frequently evaluates the current end to end processes, practices, and policies with current and prospective customers including but not limited to: sourcing, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, compliance, time and attendance, supplier management, rate card development and invoicing.
Cody Krause
Director of Business Intelligence & FinanceCody has been a part of the healthcare staffing and workforce solutions industry since 2015. Since joining the team at Maxim Healthcare Staffing, and now as a part of Sunburst Workforce Advisors, LLC (SWA)., Cody has been primarily focused on system implementation, continuous improvement, finance, and business analytics throughout his career. He has led several key initiatives throughout his tenure, which focused highly on collaboration, decision making, communication and implementation with multiple groups of stakeholders across our family of companies.
